Meet The Team

Hi, I’m Maia Fishwick, founder and head coach of Elevate Gymnastics. Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, I competed in gymnastics for over 12 years at the national and international level, winning three New Zealand National Championship titles and representing New Zealand at World Cups and World Championships. I later continued my gymnastics career at Utah State University as a collegiate athlete.

After moving to La Grande with my husband and our two boys, I was surprised to find there wasn't a gymnastics club in the area. That's why I created Elevate Gymnastics—to give local children the opportunity to experience the sport that shaped my life.

My goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where every child can build confidence, learn perseverance, and discover what they're capable of through the sport of gymnastics.

Hi, My name is Bailey Hilkey and I am currently attending EOU for Elementary Education. I am from Hood River Or, and was a former gymnast from The Dalles Or. I started competing when I was 12 and continued on until my senior year. I competed starting at the compulsory levels then transitioned into the xcel program. I love teaching kids gymnastics because it holds me close to something I love, and it’s an opportunity to share that love with another kid and hope that they feel it in return.
