Who am I?
Hi, I’m Maia Fishwick. I’m originally from Auckland, New Zealand, and gymnastics has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I competed in the sport for over 12 years at the highest levels, both nationally and internationally. I’m proud to have won three national titles in New Zealand, including a Senior International title, and to have competed against some of the best gymnasts in the world at World Cups and World Championships.
I continued my gymnastics journey at Utah State University, where I had the incredible opportunity to compete as a collegiate athlete. Gymnastics has shaped who I am — it’s taught me discipline, resilience, and passion, and it’s opened doors I never dreamed possible.
Utah State is also where I met my husband, who was born and raised in La Grande, Oregon — and that’s where life has brought us, along with our two amazing boys.
When I moved to La Grande, I was surprised to learn there wasn’t a single gymnastics club in the area. That moment sparked a new dream in me: to create a space where kids in this community could discover and grow through the sport I love so much. My goal is to give them the same kinds of opportunities that shaped my life — to inspire confidence, strength, and joy through gymnastics.
